10 Things That Made the World a Better Place in 2025
2025 has been a monumental year for children around the world. Thanks to your support, Save the Children has worked tirelessly to create a brighter future for children everywhere—a future they truly deserve.

2. DELIVERY DONKEYS
When a landslide occurred in Darfur, we used donkeys to deliver humanitarian aid to families and children in remote and hard-to-reach areas of Sudan.

Children and families enjoy a day of play at a city college on June 28, 2025—blowing bubbles, decorating hats, and receiving free educational and comfort kits—thanks to local partners supporting the LA Wildfire Response.
3. DECORATING
Following the devastating wildfires that swept through Los Angeles, our teams and local partners provided essential items to families who lost everything, as well as set up safe spaces for children to play and access mental health support. Children and families were able to enjoy a day of play blowing bubbles, decorating hats and receiving free educational and comfort kits—thanks to local partners supporting the LA Wildfire Response.

4. FOOD PRESERVATION
In a Save the Children-funded project in Vanuatu, community members grow vegetables, which are then taken to solar-drying racks. The dried food is sealed and stored, so if there’s a cyclone, they have access to food.
5. CLIMATE-RESILIENT SCHOOL
In Pakistan, Save the Children and the Sindh Ministry of Education and Literacy opened the province’s first climate-resilient school, designed to withstand extreme weather, so children can keep learning.
6. ENDING CHILD MARRIAGE
Bolivia became the 14th country in Latin America to ban child marriage after girls, Save the Children, and local NGOs joined a campaign to criminalize the practice.

7. CONTAINER LIBRARY
Save the Children set up classrooms and a library for students who lost everything in the February 2023 earthquake which struck Türkiye. The library has become a hub for students to gather and learn.

In Somalia, a child who is being treated for malnutrition eats a package of peanut paste that supports treatment.
8. PEANUT PASTE
Ereng, 18 months old, recovered from malnutrition with treatment from Save the Children Community Health Promoter Charles in Kenya. By eating fortified peanut paste, she gained 2.4kg in two months.
9. CHICKEN COOPS
We’re helping egg farmers in Quezon province by providing chickens, training to build climate-resilient coops, and guidance on selling and cooking eggs. Farmers are earning more, and children are getting the nutrition and stability they need to thrive.

Save the Children in Lebanon has deployed the Emergency Response Team to support families fleeing from Israeli attacks to collective shelters in schools. We are distributing hygiene kits, water, bedding and other essentials as well as providing recreational activities for children.
10. HEALTH BRACELETS
Save the Children community clubs in Yucatan created a "health bracelet" with beads in different colors. Each color represents an element of the food pyramid, and the number of beads indicates the portions to consume.
