History of Giving Tuesday Giving 

Tuesday was founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation. It didn’t take long at all for Giving Tuesday to be embraced and gain awareness across social media. The hashtag #GivingTuesday is part of the official name.
