Raj Kumar

Raj Kumar is the founding President and Editor-in-Chief of Devex. He launched the global development media platform in 2000 while at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Today, he leads an international team of more than 100 staff members, serving a global audience of over one million aid workers and development professionals worldwide.

A social entrepreneur and digital media executive, Raj has been involved in nine presidential campaigns and was a co-founder of a successful financial media company that was sold to TheStreet.com. He was political director at PSB Associates and a member of the press advance team for the Clinton White House.

Raj is also an accomplished author and speaker. His book, The Business of Changing the World, was named the World Economic Forum’s Book of the Month and featured by outlets including Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, NPR, PBS and Vox. He has interviewed global leaders such as António Guterres, Bill and Melinda Gates, and Ngozi OkonjoIweala, and regularly moderates high-profile panels and podcasts.

A returning board member, Raj previously served as a Save the Children US trustee from 2019 to 2025. He has also served on the Council on Foreign Relations, Clinton Global Initiative and the World Economic Forum.
