Chris Hodgson
Chris Hodgson is the Principal and Director at Cornerstone Government Affairs since March 2021. He brings extensive expertise in the legislative process, with deep relationships across the U.S. House, Senate, and executive branch.
Previously, Chris served as Director of Legislative Affairs to Vice President Mike Pence, acting as primary liaison to Congress. In this role, he managed relationships with House and Senate leadership, congressional committees and caucuses, and individual members of Congress, helping coordinate and advance key legislative priorities.
Chris also served in the Office of Majority Whip Steve Scalise and held positions as legislative assistant and deputy floor director. During this time, he supported the advancement of major legislation—including healthcare reform, Trade Promotion Authority, Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and 21st Century Cures—working closely with Members and staff to navigate policy concerns and legislative strategy.
He began his career on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant for Rep. Steve Scalise, then Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, where he handled a broad portfolio of policy issues including healthcare, defense, appropriations, and education, as well as Rep. Scalise’s portfolio on the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee.
A native Washingtonian, Chris received his bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
