Chief Financial Officer, Save the Children US
Abdul Jabbar Ghayoor is Chief Financial Officer of Save the Children US since March 2026. In this role, he leads the organization’s financial strategy and stewards its resources to maximize impact for children in the U.S. and around the world.
He brings nearly two decades of experience in financial leadership across international development, humanitarian response, and mission‑driven organizations. Before joining Save the Children US, Abdul Jabbar was Vice President of Finance and Risk Management at The Bridgespan Group, where he oversaw global financial operations, systems transformation, and multi‑country compliance.
Previously, he served as Vice President of Finance and Administration at The Trevor Project, where he led finance and operations across jurisdictions, and advanced the organization’s systems modernization. Earlier in his career, Abdul Jabbar held senior roles with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Global Communities, and Chemonics International in Asia, the Middle East, and West Africa. At IFES, he directed financial operations for a globally distributed portfolio spanning 42 countries, and with Global Communities, he played a pivotal role in overseeing Ebola response programming in Liberia.
Abdul Jabbar has dedicated his career to organizations focused on public health, education, equity and peace. His commitment to strengthening communities also extends to nonprofit governance—he currently serves as a board member and treasurer for ATD Fourth World USA, and on the President’s Leadership Council of Search for Common Ground.
He holds master’s degrees in accounting and finance, is fluent in Persian, Urdu, Hindi, Pashto, and English, and lives with his wife and son in Virginia.
