P&G and Save the Children

P&G is one of Save the Children's longest-standing partners. They have provided invaluable support to our U.S. programs since 1995 and to our international work since 2002. P&G's commitment to supporting community impact programs and gender equality through the benefits of its unique brands helps us improve life for children around the world.

P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program

Through P&G’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program, P&G and its partners have been providing clean drinking water to children and families in need around the world since 2004. Save the Children is proud to be one of the largest partners in this endeavor, supporting improved health and livelihoods for children and families in disaster impacted areas and developing countries.

In 2025, the P&G CSDW Program recognized a major milestone: delivering 25 billion liters of clean water in more than 100 countries.

The P&G CSDW Program is powered by the P&G Purifier of Water technology, a remarkable innovation that turns dirty, potentially deadly water into clean and drinkable water.

One of the families that has benefited from the P&G CSDW Program over the past 20+ years is Carrine, her husband and their three children — Cameroonian refugees living in Amana, a community in Obanliku, a Local Government Area of Cross River State in Nigeria. Prior to the delivery of P&G Purifier of Water packets, Carrine’s children frequently fell ill with water-related diseases from drinking unsafe water in the community. Since receiving P&G water purification materials from Save the Children, the number of visits Carrine has made to the clinic to treat her children for water-related illnesses has decreased, saving her money and enabling her children to attend school regularly.

The P&G CSDW Program has also partnered with Save the Children to support disaster relief across the globe in countries such as El Salvador, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Philippines, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda.

A Multifaceted Partnership

Multi-Brand Engagement – In communities served by our partnership, P&G leverages its brands to build a stronger culture of health and hygiene. Together, we've built hand-washing stations; refurbished toilet facilities; led trainings on handwashing, oral hygiene and menstrual hygiene management and run campaigns to raise awareness of healthy behaviors. Our programs have integrated P&G’s trusted brands such as Safeguard, Always, Crest and Oral-B in meaningful ways to give children opportunities to practice what they have learned across multiple markets such as China, Mexico and Nigeria.

Disaster Relief – Through the longstanding P&G Disaster Relief Program, P&G has supported many of Save the Children’s emergency response efforts over the years. Recently, this has included support for the Beirut, Lebanon port explosion, COVID-19 pandemic and Ukrainian children in need affected by the Russian conflict.

Local Activation and Employee Engagement – To engage P&G staff with Save the Children's mission, we've implemented many employee events across the globe. These range from a P&G Christmas Marketplace in Italy; to hosting media events at our country field offices in Mexico, India, China and the Philippines; to inviting P&G staff to participate in key events, such as Global Handwashing Day, in countries around the world. We have also created videos that celebrate our partnership while highlighting the impact of our work.

#WeSeeEqual

P&G works with partners like Save the Children to reach and serve more women and girls and enrich the communities where we all live and work.

P&G and Save the Children partnered to develop the #WeSeeEqual program, with a goal to advance social norm change and the institutionalization of gender equality by applying an approach based on our socio-ecological model and expanding strategies that target children in and out of school, their caretakers, community members and broader society.

Since 2018, we have worked together to transform gender norms through programs in Indonesia and Mexico. For example, we’re working with teachers in Mexico to provide them with essential information to talk about gender equality in their classrooms. As a sixth grade teacher we work with shared, "Once we had gone over the topics, I saw changes in the way my students treated each other. They are more pleasant, and the girls feel supported." This sentiment shows how the work we’re doing is going a long way to transform gender norms among schoolchildren.
